The Nike Era 1995 - 2007
Nike - 1995
Nike swoosh on upper left side and size tag is near the hem. Home jersey has tv numbers on sleeves. Away jerseys have sleeve stripes and tv numbers on shoulders. During the Big Ten season, a special Big Ten Centennial patch was added to the home and away jerseys.
Nike - 1996
Nike swoosh on upper left side and size tag is in the neckline. Home jersey has tv numbers on sleeves. Away jerseys have sleeve stripes and tv numbers on shoulders.
Nike - 1997
Nike swoosh on upper left side and size tag is in the neckline. Home jersey has tv numbers on sleeves. Away jerseys have a block M and stripes at the bottom of the sleeves and tv numbers on shoulders. Away jerseys also had two collars: one that overlaps and one that meets at the v-neck. (I had to throw in the 1998 Rose Bowl jersey).
Nike - 1998 - 2004
Nike swoosh is moved to the middle of the collar and reduced in size.The size tag is in the neckline. Home jersey has tv numbers on sleeves. Away jerseys have a block M and stripes at the bottom of the sleeves and tv numbers on shoulders. An American flag was added to both jerseys after the 9/11 tragedy. During the Michigan - Ohio State game, a special "100th Game" patch was added to the home jersey.
Nike - 2005 - 2007
2005 saw a complete overhaul of both home and away jerseys. Numbers and names were sewn on. The mixed pattern of the body of the jersey led to the term "diaper" jerseys. Nike swoosh is in the middle of the collar and still reduced in size.The size tag is moved back to the hem. Home jersey has tv numbers on sleeves. Away jerseys have a blue stripe on the cuff and tv numbers are on sleeves.
